Hands-on manager of the engineering department

As a hands-on manager of the engineering department at Interfurn B.V., you are responsible for leading a team of about 10 drafters and work preparers. In addition to leading the team, you are also an engineer yourself and contribute as a drafter and a work preparer. You work closely with the management team to achieve the organizational goals.

Interfurn B.V. is a leading interior construction company based in Winschoten. As one of the largest interior builders for the healthcare sector in the Netherlands, we realize high-quality interiors for hospitals, nursing homes, laboratories, pharmacies, and other interior construction projects. Our team consists of approximately 60 enthusiastic professionals who strive for quality, sustainability, and customized solutions.


How do we work?

In the engineering department, (working) drawings are produced for our projects based on the architect’s design drawings. For this, we use the 3D drawing package Ironcad, for which every drafter receives internal training at the start of employment. From the 3D drawings, saw and material lists are automatically generated. Subsequently, all required information is delivered to the purchasing department so that the materials can be ordered. All necessary information is also provided to production. During the project, our drafters/production planners serve as the client’s contact person and communicate about the details for the execution of the project.

What will you do?

• Lead a team of about 10 drafters and production planners.
• Responsible for the planning and coordination of all activities at the company office.
• Collaborate with the team according to the above-mentioned method.
• Ensure efficient work execution and meeting deadlines.
• Consult with the management team about project status, progress, and opportunities for optimization.
• Serve as the contact person for customers and external suppliers.
• Contribute to developing and implementing improvement processes.

 What do we ask of you?

• A technical HBO level of work and thinking.
• Experience as a (lead) drafter/production planner, preferably in the interior construction sector.
• Knowledge and experience with drawing software, such as AutoCAD and/or other (3D) drawing packages.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to lead effectively.
• Organizational talent and the ability to set priorities.
• Proactive and result-oriented work mentality.
• Customer focus and problem-solving ability.
• Flexibility and the ability to distinguish between main and minor issues.
• You do not have an 8 to 17 mentality.
